teen girls director
Leah Barrett came to MVCC in 2000 when she was just 6 years old. Leah and her family have been actively involved ever since. Growing up, she was a pillar in the youth group, and constantly pursued new ways to serve and make everyone feel included. She went on every missions trip, started a Bible Study at her public high school, and was a student leader in almost every facet of the youth group. As a student leader, and sought to get others involved and help them understand just how much Jesus loves them. None of this changed when she graduated from Urbana high school in 2012. While in college, she spent the summers volunteering with the Youth Ministry, and interned twice. Even though she majored in Psychology at Eastern University, her passion for Youth Ministry remained, and she took several classes on the subject to help increase her effectiveness in ministry. She graduated early in 2015, and started working as a Therapeutic Mentor for Advanced Behavioral Health. She continued to serve in the youth group as a family group leader, and frequently went above and beyond, always making herself available to the teen girls in the ministry.
